The phone will go on sale starting March 20-right after the Windows Phone 7 NoDo update including CDMA support, with Copy/Paste and various other performance boosters. It would cosy you about $199.99 with a two-year service agreement or eligible upgrade, after a $100 mail-in rebate. You can pre-order an HTC Arrive and book a unit at any participating Sprint Store when you purchase a $50 Sprint gift card.

Basically, when you purchase an HTC Arrive, you sign up for a Sprint’s Everything plan, and also the $10 Premium Data add-on charge for smartphones.

You probably know this, but we would like to remind you that the HTC Arrive packs in a massive 1 GHz processor, 3.6-inch WVGA screen, five-megapixel camera, slide-out QWERTY keyboard, SRS WOW HD surround sound, 16GB Internal Memory, Bluetooth 2.1 as well as 1500 mAh Lithium-ion. It will come with Sprint Zone (one-stop wireless account access, phone tips, news), Sprint TV and Movies and NASCAR Sprint Cup MobileSM.

Previously, Microsoft had some battery life concerns with multitasking in third party apps, but with better performing apps being launched every day, the future is right here.

In fact, a few weeks is all it would take. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer recently confirmed that the “BIG Windows Phone  7 Update” to all this and more would happen in “early March”. It would enable support for CDMA radios, copy and paste and performance improvements.

Applications like Twitter would be integrated into the People Hub, and with IE9 coming soon, enthusiast expect an “out of the world” web browser experience, with all the graphics and hardware acceleration it has to offer.

If it does what it says it does, this is one thing worth watching out for.

HTC in Mobile World Congress

The event of the year, Mobile World Congress, is just around the corner (see you there!). Speculation is rife about two new HTC phones that are expected to make their debut. First, the Wildfire 2 is a sleek phone running Android.

And the second, around which most of the hype is concentrated, is the HTC Saga, or Desire 2, which features a front-facing camera (some might call that boring!). We spotted a new counter on the HTC Facebook page, which leads us into believing that bigger things are in the making (possibly a new tablet?).

Windows today confirmed that the roll-out of its pre-NoDo update has been stopped, but only for Windows Phone 7 handsets.

A technical issue has been identified with the Windows Phone update process that potentially impacts a small impact of phones. Thus, the latest software update has been temporarily taken down to correct the issue. Microsoft is trying to get the service up and running as soon as possible.

This gives credence to the thought thatall Windows Phone 7 handsets are not created equally. It is difficult to point fingers at someone, but, in the end, Microsoft is expected to test the updates.

A fix can be expected in the next few days.
